Exiled for a Purpose

God’s patience over the centuries had worn thin with Israel of the Southern Kingdom too. He had sent them into the wilderness again, into exile in Babylon. Here he would keep working to change their hearts through the words of the prophet he would steel for the task. The exile is really a testimony to the zealous grace of God that he would love sinners so much that he would do anything to bring them to repentance. He still loves us with the same passion and still gives us prophet/pastors to feed our souls.
